PM ReporterSharryse Piggott is WUNC’s PM Reporter. Before she became the afternoon reporter in 2022, Sharryse first ed the station as a fellow for the American Homefront Project in 2021. She’s from a small town called Pocomoke in Maryland. It’s located on the peninsula of Eastern Shore Maryland. Sharryse served 4 years as an active duty U.S Marine and 5 years in the North Carolina Army National Guard. She has over seven years of broadcast experience. Sharryse interned at 101.9 Kiss in New Bern, N.C., and worked for Digital Dope Radio in Atlanta, G.A., as the chief blogger and radio personality. She earned her bachelor’s degree in English and master’s degree in Integrated Marketing Communications from the University of North Carolina Wilmington. Sharryse also has a podcast called Connect Like Minds.
