Some NC businesses are 'excited,' may benefit from new tariffs

While the ongoing trade war has left many business leaders fearful about their economic future, some NC industries could benefit from the new policies - like commercial shrimpers.

President Trump’s tariffs and trade wars have left many business leaders fearful about their economic future. But some industries might benefit from the new policies. The Assembly’s Johanna Still recently reported on several North Carolina businesses welcoming tariffs.

More recently, Rachel was podcast managing editor at Capitol Broadcasting Company where she developed narrative series and edited a daily podcast. She also worked at "The Double Shift" podcast as supervising producer. Rachel learned about audio storytelling at the Salt Institute for Documentary Studies. Prior to working in audio journalism, she was a research assistant at the Aspen Institute in Washington, DC.
